It is a new take on Butch/Femme relationships. The way "the real world" looks and handles the LGBTQ community and trying to prevent them from being themselves is so perfectly shown in this book, and the way that the author wrote it with them finding a workaround to it, by them leaving this world to go live in the world meant for them.

Holding Out for Her Hero is an engaging, absorbing story that challenges the Sapphic reader to imagine a new, safe, and accepting world, and all the brave new people living there. Rebecca Freeman is building that place for us, one story, one love, at a time.

I love seeing worlds where LGBTQ+ people live and thrive, and the way this book included trans representation was another amazing addition.
I don't see nearly enough trans representation, even in queer centered worlds, so it was pretty nice.
