There's so much to love in this book- a good rescue story, world-building, magical soul-binding sex, a compound of butch warriors in training, relatable characters and story arcs and yes, pterodactyls.

Holding Out for Her Hero is an engaging, absorbing story that challenges the Sapphic reader to imagine a new, safe, and accepting world, and all the brave new people living there. Rebecca Freeman is building that place for us, one story, one love, at a time.

I love seeing worlds where LGBTQ+ people live and thrive, and the way this book included trans representation was another amazing addition.
I don't see nearly enough trans representation, even in queer centered worlds, so it was pretty nice.
